Only one week more

As I write, we are flying back from Mexico City.  At this time next week we will be flying to Lisboa to start our Camino Portugues.

We have only one more week to get everything ready.  It took 3 months to get my feet free of pain after last year's Camino.  The knee injury from a month ago it's pretty well healed so I feel I am ready to start walling.

Since Christmas we have been walking a minimum of 10,000 steps daily and I am hoping that this week we will manage 20,000.

There are still a few things to do.  Spray the backpacks and the sleeping bags against bugs (bed bugs), disinfect the water bags, repack everything once more, recheck the first aid kits and I am sure there are more things to add to the list.

The last ten we packed we had both backpacks under 7 kg (without water and food).  We might be able to shed a few grams more.  

We have been trying to prepare also spiritually.  While on Mexico we visited the basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe to ask for her protection. I am looking forward to visiting Our Lady a the the shrine in Fatima.  We found a very good book that relates in detail the apparitions of Fatima.

Only one more week...
